My definition of diversity

In this course we have defined diversity as a concept that involves fostering an environment of inclusion at every level of the many diverse groups that together compose the US . However , I can not dispute the definition herein offered but can advance my definition Therefore , according to my opinion diversity includes language , physical appearance , sexual orientation , lifestyle , values , personality characteristics , ideologies , background characteristics , beliefs , and education , marital status . This definition of diversity shall imply that

our economic , physical , social dimensions are included that stimulates and facilitate societal growth and development . In this way , diversity shall be in a broader sense that reflects all dimensions of our American society rather than the course definition that can be seen to be limited Equal Employment Opportunity law capturing race , religion , gender nationality or age

Groups that are non-racial or ethnic in US

Most definitions and dimensions of diversity have in the recent past paid much attention and adopted to a narrow definition informing the composition of the groups . For instance , Davidson (2004 , reports that majority of literatures focus on race , gender and ethnicity , while overlooking other dimensions such as socioeconomics , disability religion and sexual orientation . In this regard , four groups that are categorized as non-racial or non-ethnic in US today ought to include for example homosexuals , lesbians , persons with disability , baby boomers generation Y and poor group .
