Violence Against Women : Understanding and Preventing Domestic Violence

Societies are composed of men and women with values and norms according to their origins . Differences are very evident given that people have their own upbringings and foundations . These diversities offer thrilling search operations among men and women who seek for their future partners . Personalities of men and women differ in a degree that would take years for a person to understand . According from the book of John Gray (1992 , men

and women used to live in worlds that for instance were really separated , namely Mars and Venus . They have their own worlds that are relatively very different with each other Mars being populated by men who are used to work alone and with built-in authority and Venus being populated by the gorgeous women who cater the needs of other more than their needs and who prefer talking their problems out instead of searching for solutions

When a man finally found the time that he feels he is being needed by other people specifically by women , he will go out of his own cave and try satisfying that urge of serving the girls until he has the chance of forgetting his own self . For the woman 's part , her part in her world is to serve other Venusians . That activity makes her happy , but there will come a point that she will feel tired of always giving and pleasing other people , which will be the time she will feel the need to be served and be taken care of . That is the time when she realizes that men also exist to cater her needs . When both of them reached that point , they will give themselves the chance to become happy , and that is through settling into a family in the process of marriage . They will undergo the changes of separating themselves from their past friends and companion and face a new life with new responsibilities of serving their spouses and making each day the best as if it will be their last day together

However , as men and women stay longer together , there are a number of conflicts that arise because of the differences in their personalities The old self becomes aggressive and it shows the natural attitudes of the person . With that , most of the women are the ones who are defeated in the situation

Years ago , there were already reports that dealt with the abuse that women get with the opposite sex , specifically their husbands . Women are battered and hurt , and to some extent are killed by the violent actions of their partners . The women are oppressed with their freedom leaving them of no choice but to take care of the house and the kids . Surveys report that a large percent of the violence in the family are received by women , both the wife and the children
