Introduction

Crime has for a long time remained one of those critical issues that have adversely affected the way and manner people carry out their daily businesses (Akers , 2007 . Various types of crime have had different impacts on society and so the more need to seek to establish the causes of crime and how it is viewed by differently members and /or groups in society

. While every society has its own ways in which it approaches crime issues , it is highly likely that some generalizations can be found which explain the root cause of crime . This is because different theorists tend to present the subject in different ways and so generally portray the picture that crime is as result of either one factor or another . This notwithstanding , it is true that even these social theorists grapple with many other issues which might make them to fail to actually present crime in the way it should be . As such , the way to understand crime in society as far as its causes , impacts , and consequences is to explore two or more different theories on a specific area of crime . This is largely because , as theorists have tended to unanimously agree , unique crimes have unique causal factors (Siegel 2008
