ago , and after his father was imprisoned
Social worker Emo Wilkommen 's actions of improving the position and condition of Charlie were his way of making up for past deprivations and difficulties in the life of Charlie . The National Association of Social Workers (NASW ) has written
The primary mission of the social work profession is to enhance human well-being and help meet the basic human needs of all people , with particular attention to the needs and empowerment of people who are vulnerable , oppressed , and living in poverty (Code of ethics of the National Association of Social Workers , 2008
Thus , to enhance the well-being and help meet the basic human needs of Charlie , Emo did things to ease Charlie 's way into the group
Answer to Question 2
In to level the playing field for Charlie , Emo set firm limits on two rambunctious group members , and had set up several opportunities for Charlie to shine . However , based on the NASW 's Code of Ethics , social workers are also there to promote social justice and social change with and on behalf of clients (Code of ethics , 2008 . His actions and decision , therefore , were not consistent with promoting `social justice and `social change ' within the group . While it is good to do something for the empowerment and enhancement of the well-being of Charlie , Emo should also have set standards in to empower and enhance the well-being of the other members , such as the rambunctious group members If the group members claimed that Emo is favoring Charlie above all then the former must not have explained clearly his purposes on why he should set firm limits on the rambunctious ones . The setting of firm limits should be explained well to them , that the action is fully justified , and that it was for the enhancement and improvement of their well-beings . The well-being of other members should not be put at stake only for Charlie 's sake
Each individual , with a different context , has to play on a different playing field , with a different set of rules apt for the type of context and character . If Emo has implemented ways to enhance Charlie , he should also have made ways to enhance other group members , most especially those that are on the negative (e .g , rambunctious individuals . There is no need for Emo to try to level the playing field because each individual , at least , should play in a separate playing field designed to establish , enhance , and promote...
