p My grandparents originated from Jamaica . Life is difficult during that time . They never had formal schooling . Good thing they learned how to read and write even a little . The basic counting and arithmetic were practiced through constant trading . Education was set aside for they have to work to earn a living . Without money , they won 't eat . That is how hard life was in the 1920 's . After the arrival of the Chinese merchants , they were converted into Roman Catholicism . My grandparents resided in the coastal areas . He has many siblings too to take care of , so he had no chance to enroll in a college institution as a full time student . He tried to study management course on a scholarship grant but just finished one year Money was more important than education at that time . My mother also was just a high school graduate . She did not try to look for any job for she has to take care of her six children including me . We were brought up in the Roman Catholic faith as influenced by our grandparents . The whole family attended mass regularly on Sundays . My father 's income was sufficient for our daily needs . My mother budgets the family 's income and fortunately we had extra celebrations for special occasion . We never consume on anything that is unnecessary . All were allotted for basic needs education and for medical emergencies . That 's how our life evolved during those times . I can 't say that it is as...
