the social strata of the U .S . populace . The author , William G . Domhoff is a known social scientist ( sociologist ) and has written a number of books on political and social power . He is a professor of
Sociology since 1965 at University of California , Sta . Cruz and received a number of awards due to
his writings and published books after his retirement from teaching . He was born into a non-
political middle American family of what they consider Midwest U .S . or Ohio . He is an alumnus of
Duke University and got his Masters at Kent State University and doctorate degree from University
of Miami . William G . Domhoff has published 19 books dealing on policymaking in the U .S . and in
the method of power research theory . His style of writing and presentation of facts is consistent in all . He reveal information and facts from his social research in such a
manner that it can be easily understood and assimilated by ordinary reader as in the case of Who
Rules America : Politics , Power and Social Change ( 4th and 5th editions and How Policy is Made in
America (1990 . His s on power , politics and social stratification are known s and
informational knowledge but the manner by which it is presented to the reader is scholarly and
left no stones unturned to justify his statements and the veracity of his claims . The reader is left in

by summarizing the main points of the book and successfully instilling in the mind of the reader that
there exist a so called social classes ' or group diversification based on acquired wealth in
