Social factors play an essential role in the lives of almost all individuals . A person 's environment as well as the people around him or her has an impact in the attitude and behavior of a person . Suicide is not a new phenomenon as it is considered as one of the major problems concerning mental health today . It usually occurs in most developed or first class countries . Except for people with a very young age , this mental health problem happens in all age groups , social classes as well as cultures . The Nature of Suicide

The nature of this mental health problem stipulates that it could happen in almost all ages . As such , children and adolescents could also commit suicide . It is very unusual for children who are younger than 10 years old to commit suicide . Nevertheless , children who are 10 to 14 years of age is more susceptible in committing suicide , which is proven by the reports that it is the third leading cause of death in the United States that accounts for 7 .2 of all deaths in this particular age group . According to statistics , boys in this age bracket most commonly commit this incident as they account for 79 of the these 79 , most of them are Caucasian boys . Suicide is also considered as the second leading reason as to why Native American boys with the age range of 10 to 14 years old died . Even though he does not explicitly define the term social integration it plays a pivotal role in his study .
