It is very unusual for children who are younger than 10 years old to commit suicide . Nevertheless , children who are 10 to 14 years of age is more susceptible in committing suicide , which is proven by the reports that it is the third leading cause of death in the United States that accounts for 7 .2 of all deaths in this particular age group . According to statistics , boys in this age bracket most commonly commit this incident as they account for 79 of the these 79 , most of them are Caucasian boys .
