Women of the states were tired of never ending Peloponnesian War . Lysistrata the wise woman calls all the women and starts a strike to ask women to end sexual relation with their husband until the end fighting . Her plan works and all celebrated in the end Jealousy , supremacy and money were the main causes of hatred and war between the two countries . The

money collected during war was used for the adornment of the Athen state
Money can be the cause of love and cause of hatred . Money can easily cause jealousy . When Athens was more prospering and growing in power the Sparta became jealous and wanted to take Athens state under their control . Sparta wanted to snatch good from them , their wealth and happiness . A saying that Money makes the world go round ' is not far from truth . Without money you cannot survive in the society . Money can create love when it is spend on others , on poor and for welfare of the society
Thought the role of money is necessary and confirming , Lysistrata shows that the role of money is somewhat devastating if do not use it in the right way
In play Lysistrata , money is a certainty of life and a need . When a society is deficient and lacks it then creates innumerable problems However , its abundance also gives rise to another chain of problems like selfishness , jealousy , pride that eventually end up in hatred and war So it is difficult to decide that whether we should take money as good or evil of the society . Sometimes the excess of it creates an illusion that we 've full power and all control over it . When men start thinking this way that we 're more powerful than the other and better then ultimately the beginning of their fall . Men fight and war over others when they are excessively loaded with wealth and have desire to overpower others and make them their slave . It makes one master and the other slave . Hence we can only make better use of money if we can understand our limitations of power and can make wise use of it
In Lysistrata money was one of the causes of long-term war among the two states . However , the role of money is always limited . It intensely has power over our desires and wishes . It has been cursed for creating several problems in society due to its excess and depletion . Its depletion causes poverty and misery , while excess causes jealousy , love of power and fame
