Smoking after being diagnose with lung cancer
Running Head : Lung cancer Name University Course Tutor Date Introduction A health promotion project among post diagnosis smoking of lung cancer patients seeks to bring out health literacy levels among the population selected and to compare the effects of continued smoking after a person is diagnosed of lung cancer In grading such a project , the introduction needs to capture the identity of the project . It needs to show the side effects of which are the justification for the campaign . Here , this continued smoking reduces the performance

status of individuals regardless of their sex , age or race . The intent of the project is the programme of activities and budget of the project which should be plausible . It should take enough time to meet its expectations . The project reviews 100 patients who have been found to have lung cancer . This is also the target population which determines the outcome of the project . A wrongly chosen population is likely to give wrong results . Out of the 100 people , all of them previous smokers , 73 of them stopped smoking after diagnosis but 23 of them continued smoking after their diagnosis of lung cancer
The disease stage treatment modalities were the same for the two groups The projected outcome is what is generally understood to be the case but now the project has to play a role of educating people on the precautions to take . Those who left smoking maintained a better body performance status than those who continued . Lung cancer is known to kill many post diagnosis smokers with over 90 of reported cases
The impact of smoking history on lung cancer patients is very clear Studies indicate that positive smoking background prior to diagnosis is associated with shortened survival for patients with lung cancer Continued smoking reduces the performance status of patients which is a measure of patients functional status which determines the level of patients self care . Post diagnosis smoking contributes to poor response to treatment and chances of additional forms of illness . A health promotion project on continued smoking by lung cancer patients needs to compare the population in a scientific way that brings about the truth By comparing the body performance status of both groups of patients brings a fact that continued smoking by lung cancer patients is likely to lead to death than those who stopped smoking
Development tools adapted for this kind of promotion may range from written material like brochure , T-shirts , caps and many others . These tools should offer education to the victims on good health practices that are good for the society . They should give information on reasons and methods of stopping smoking and thinking of how to heal their illness . Writings of warning are written on them directed to those patients of lung cancer . Also , such words can warn those who are not affected to abstain from smoking at the same time to be aware of passive smoking which equally can result to lung cancer . Banners can be used hanged along the streets targeting most...
