In general , the success of business depends on the capability of top managements to envision the long-term business growth . In to realize the dream , they must be able to keep their employees motivated within a particular period . Many factors influence employees ' motivation such as career development , remuneration , enhanced skills and knowledge advancement etc

The situation reveals that finding out what motivate employees to achieve the corporate goals seems to be a challenging task that not all managements

are capable of coping with the challenges

Since top managements in a company have many employees , each has various background and culture therefore , they should be savvy enough to deal with cultural diversity since there is no single tactic dealing with such diverse people . It implies that what motivates any employees may not work for another . Interestingly , a top management who is able to motivate himself and shows great passion in dealing with several situations , even the hardest one , will likely face favorably situation in motivating his subordinates

The situation is true since one characteristic of a good leader is the capability to face problems head-on . According to Blagg and Young (2001 , the great leaders are those never run away from reality . In fact , they , who become successful leaders , often share difficulty that a company encounters since this initiative repeatedly encourages people to make a better situation

Concerning the issue , this will discuss about theoretical and practical concepts learned about group dynamics and the application of those concepts in a group situational environment . In details , this will take into account five issues they are Group decision making versus individual decision making , Motivational patterns in groups Conflicts / causes of conflicts / conflict management , Task functions , and Maintenance functions

Theory of Decision Making

The development of business involves a series of suitable decision making that drive a company to achieve a designated position in a particular market or industry . Concerning the decision making nature , I found a brief explanation from a research , where the researchers explains that there is no pure ' decision merely based on intellectual logic or purely ' based on emotion (Biology Daily , n .d .Their remarks suggest that in every kind of the decision making process there is an appropriate mixture between emotion and reason of the decision makers . This suggestion is in line with nature of storytelling that also composes of mixture between the two factors

Although decision-making process could not merely depend on rational process , I found that it makes sense to assume that too much emotion may cause a decision to be flawed or vague . Under such circumstances , in to make a sensible decision we must dispassionately consider evidences we have
