Costa Rica is a narrow body of land surrounded on both sides by water so named the North Atlantic and South Pacific Oceans and connects together , North America and South America . Costa Rica is also home to the Great Bahamian Bank which is a group of smaller islands that form a broken line , resting in the South Atlantic Ocean . Just outside of this bank lies open water to Africa , the UK , America and Greenland Furthermore , Costa Rica and these other smaller islands provide the perfect home to

many beaches , some well known yet many that are not inhabited except by wildlife While Costa Rica is also home to mild weather , it is also home to commerce trade between the US and Chile and a few other smaller countries . This commerce has always included bananas , coffee , pineapple and currently lies in the free trade zone . While Costa Rica seems somewhat prevalent in their wealth from their trade between the different countries they also have their share of illegal trades and activities , illegal fishing , logging , drug production and sales and human trafficking known to some as the slave trade

This trafficking encompasses many forms of slavery . Some of the slavery is for work purposes other for use of drug trafficking and the most common is the ultimate prostitution ring .
