Slavery is referred to as a forced labor where people are treated as if they are property of others . Slavery is being forced to work or do something against the will of the captives from the time they were captured , they were born or when they were purchased and are denied right to leave , omit working or receiving any kind of compensation like wages

could be found on written records and was in existence in varying forms and in different periods which existed among different cultures and continents . Slavery existed in some societies as a legal institution or as a system of social-economy . In modern society the act of slavery is outlawed and faces harsh critics from various parts of the world though it still exists in different forms around the world

Slavery can be traced from the earliest records known . Such records include the Bible and the Code of Hammurabi (ca 1760 BC ) which refers the slavery as the establishment of institution . Slavery was found in every civilization that included Ancient Egypt , Ancient Greece , Akkadian empire and some other ancient empires such as Islamic Caliphate .
