Introduction

Ezra and Herod the great were among the major characters in the Jewish community who played great roles in shaping the community either through doing the will of God and leading the community to victory in war . They both played their roles in different ways , Ezra was much concerned with the law

and shaping the community as per the will of God that could bring forgiveness and mercies of the Lord to the community . Herod was involved in building of the temple in Jerusalem that still was a way of bringing the Jewish community closer to the Lord . He had also a bad pro among the community for authorizing the massacre of the innocent baby boys

Significant contributions in the life of Intestamental Jewish community

During the intestammental period , both Ezra and Herod made significant contributions to the Jewish community the brought impact in the later days in the time of Jesus and the church

Ezra had completely dedicated himself in the service of the Lord he had nothing left in him that could have changed him . He sacrificed himself and his time to serve the Lord . This encouraged the Jewish community to dedicate themselves in the service of the Lord and ask for forgiveness so as nothing could put them away from the Lord . The dedication of Ezra encouraged them to fully participate in the activities of the temple

As Ezra was scribe writer , he wrote encouraging chapters through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit , this encouraged the Jews to cleanse themselves so as they may be closer to the Lord . They knew Ezra was a firm follower of the Laws of Moses and would not do anything against the law which they believed was one of the reason why the Lord was using him , they had to follow whatever he told them as it was from the Lord in heaven 'Yahweh . When Ezra told them to leave people of the land and marry from their community , they obeyed and cried to the Lord for forgiveness and was forgiven
