The current business environment is characterized by a considerable level of business rivalry and therefore businesses have to continuously reengineer their internal processes in to build and maintain a competitive advantage . This was the situation facing ServeNow . In this respect , the management was aiming to implement a solution that would facilitate enhanced coordination between the different store outlets and the headquarters . The company faced a further problem in terms of personnel shortages . There was no clear succession planning and this was forcing the management to recruit managers from outside sources . However

that would still not solve the problem as the owner did not have enough time to personally visit all the stores in to train the new recruits . This problem could only be solved through implementing technological solutions . In this respect , the management of the company would have to maintain the strategic alignment process in to ensure that the process of managing change was aligned to the strategic focus of the company

The first of the possible solutions that the management could implement was to install an enterprise resource planning solution that would enable the management to coordinate to a greater extent with the different store outlets .
