Our society is very diverse that people have the impetus to carry on their personal needs and interests . If people will just be allowed to do things according to their personal interests , competition with other people rises thus there is a need for a central force or a leader that will regulate and maintain balance to promote

peace and to drive the way to the ultimate good from which people will all benefit . This is why there is government in a society for the general interests of people to be served . In a smaller context , organizations or companies need leaders who will pilot the way towards the realization of the interests of the company or group

Implicit leadership theory addresses the evaluations people make about leaders thus leadership can be also defined as the process of being perceived as a leader . This means that even if one has all the leadership characteristics he or she is not a leader if other people and the followers do not regard him or her as a leader . This implies that leadership does not only require certain skills and characteristics but also requires charisma and attachment to the prospective domain of followers .
