Abstract

The body 's sensory system together with the sensori-motor system plays very important roles in human survival . However , it is worthy noting that various aspects of the two concepts have varying contribution to human survival with some being more important than others

Introduction

A sensory system is composed of sensory receptor , a neural pathway , and also involves some parts of the brain in the sensory perception process

There are many sensory systems which include among others vision , touch hearing , taste , and smell (Science Daily LLC , 2010 . Sensori-motor system on the other hand is a hierarchical complex system that derives guidance from somato-sensory feedback and is normally altered through the learning process . Sensori-motor system is crucial for functional joint stability (Lephart , Riemann , and Fu , 2000 . The sensori-motor system is said to consist of all the sensory , motor , and central integration and processing components involved with maintaining joint homeostasis during bodily movements (Riemann and Lephart , 2002 , para 37 . Both the sensory and sensori-motor systems are important aspects of the body functioning in human beings

Movement can be argued to be a very important aspect of sensori-motor system as it leads to complementary relationship between static and dynamic components . Movement is very important in human life since it improves the human health in various ways . It is said to increase blood circulation within the body , builds body muscles , and enhances metabolism among other things (AmO...
