Our brains are a fascinating organism and one of the reasons studies of the brain are so exciting is because for the brain to work there needs to be a clear interaction between external stimuli and internal responses . One example of this interaction is between sensory perception and memorization

Sensory perception can be defined as where our five physical senses (visual , audio , olfactory , taste and touch ) receive information that is sent through to the central nervous system via

specialized sensory neurons . This information is then processed by the central nervous system and is used to impact , and at times change behavior (Sensory Perception , 2006 . A classic example of this might be if you happen to put your hand on a hot stove element . Your sense of touch registers that the element is hot that information is sent through to the central nervous system and this triggers the response for you to move your hand .Memorization on the other hand is one of the methods that we use to retain information in our memory . Rote learning is one example of memorization where the individual reads and re-reads , or performs various actions repeatedly in an effort to remember information or a sequence of events in an exact and precise manner .
