In a business , security and access to information is essential for that business to prosper and become competitive in the market . For online businesses , all business transactions are done through the internet and thus most of its investments are on the internet . All data regarding the business is found online

and in most cases , the customers and the sellers never meet since all communication is done online . On the other side , in offline businesses majority of the transactions are not done on the internet . The internet is mainly used as a tool for marketing the business and thereby attracting more customers

Internet provides an efficient and effective way of exchanging information , doing business and expanding a business since many people can easily access the internet . However , with many people accessing the information , it becomes more vulnerable to security breaches . The information can be altered or deleted by individuals using the internet and this can hurt the business .
