Bible-believing Christians steadfastly hold on this verse in the Bible that no one can tell exactly when the end of the world would be . But prophecies and predictions about the apocalypse ' always linger in our midst . End-time prophecies are issues that continuously attract our interest

The on end of the

world was long before being studied and mentioned by scholars . It is not a meaningless but something worth investigating . Many end-times prophecy came up and was proven wrong . It alarmed and scared people just like the Y2K millennium bug

21 December 2012 is the last year of the Long Count Maya calendar . This date will end the current cycle known as the Great Cycle . But it doesn 't actually mean the end of the world . The end of the Great Cycle will signal the start of a new cycle

What will really happen on 21 December 2012 ? We know that the eight planets revolve around the sun . Aside from planets , we know that there are many other celestial objects outside earth . We also know that the sun , the planets , and the other celestial objects form the solar system We are not just very much aware , but there are also so much excitements ' beyond earth . One example is the upcoming event on 21 December 2012 and that would be the alignment of the Galactic Equator (or the Milky Way Equator ) to the Ecliptic path of the sun (Ben , 2008 a very rare phenomenon and in fact the first time in about 26 ,000 years

Recall what happened in the Y2K ? People paranoia had created too much negative advertisements about the millennium . Did the world end then as predicted ? Definitely not because we are still here ! Now that one cycle of Maya calendar is about to end on year 2012 , people again are creating nuisances about the end of times

I disagree . As the Lord Jesus said in the Bible , no one can tell when the end of the world will happen . It could happen tomorrow , or next month , or next year if that is God 's plan . The point is , we should not scare ourselves with things we are not certain of . Only God knows our future . Today is more important . We have other problems to think about problems that we see and experience . Why worry a problem that we can 't see and experience ? I believe in God 's words in the Bible . Our future is not in our hands
