The natural aspect of security considers the overall physical environment

of an area . It serves as the basic element of security planning by determining isolated areas and facilities where possible abductors could hide or where a crime could possibly take place . Thus , the natural aspect will consider the lighting , distances of buildings and facilities , floor area , the number of expected people to be in that area , presence of security officers , and others
Organizational security involves training of security staff for the day-to-day event and consequently informing the non-security staff of the need to provide security in an area . Security officers must be well-trained to be on the look-out for unsafe activities and people Their goal is to monitor the area , be alert and know how to describe a certain situation , event , object or person and be knowledgeable in handling emergency situations
Mechanical security uses equipment to implement a security program such as portable radios , video rec and alarm systems . These gadgets aid in documenting threats and disturbances and are also essential especially when the security force provided is not enough to cover a large area
Nowadays , it is important to provide mechanical security in every area to monitor the events day in-day out . Most of the establishments equip their areas with surveillance cameras , alert systems and communication gadgets to be on the look out for crimes . These are also put in place for recording purposes and to be able to look back or review what has transpired in a crime scene
However , the three aspects enumerated must not be separated from each other . These aspects are interrelated in such a way that to become more effective in security planning and assessment , other aspects must be well considered first . For example , in putting up surveillance or video cameras which are part of the mechanical aspect , the physical environment must be assessed first . In a building , for example , cameras will be strategically located in places where there are more possibilities of conducting a crime such as in more hidden areas corners , and dimly-lighted areas . In banks , on the other hand , alarm systems may be strategically located where the cashiers can easily access them since they are the main targets of hold uppers
On the other hand , the use of surveillance cameras will require a monitoring room where every corner of a building can be monitored Hence , to fully implement the security in the area , not only are the frontline security , who are present in all possible entry points of a building are being trained to...
