China comprises almost 1 /6 of the population . Also , it occupies almost ? of the globe and is actually the biggest country all over Asia . Though simple and somehow maintains tradition , its economy never exits the global market for its being competitive . Accompanying its continuous growth is the decay of the environment . They are aware of this of course

, and they have made several means to address these problems . Some were effective at one point in time , but then the forces of nature are recognized to be more powerful that the rate of deterioration is faster than the healing process . Many problems contribute to the continuous destruction of nature . In the list are air pollution , extinction of the biodiversity , eutrophication and many other man-made factors and phenomena . These were the effects of providing the needs of the human race and profit-oriented companies who do not care anymore of the outcome that the nature might give back

China is already one of the major contributors of greenhouse gases which may lead to global warming . The competition in globalization which leads to industrialization is somewhat unavoidable . Other countries are affected because the gases are transferred to the east . North America contributes also to deforestation due to the fact that they are the major contributors of rainforest timbers . The geography of China is so complex , there are positive effects , but the drastic environment leads to faster deterioration of its flora and fauna . The population growth in China is one of the factors that cause exhaustion of their natural resources . Since the population explosion is one of their problems , they began to utilize resources from the world market unimaginably of high percentage all over the globe . In connection to industrialization , China has also become a very high energy country , which is actually second after the United States . Because of this , their reservoir of natural gas diminishes

Many of Chinese people do work in towns and villages even though their population is so big that it may also cause underemployment . The backfire is also there pollution is heightened as accompaniment because of the industrial pollutants . They believe on exhausting everything that can be utilized . But then one of the actions of the government was to declare environmental protection rules in 1983 which had positive significant contribution to counteract their problem

Still there is a sad truth that the vast population of China needs vast amount of resources . Their seawater and lands are in continuous exhaustion that disasters come to their way which caused death . This impact of the large population and use of resources have also been greatly affecting the global community . Health problems , socioeconomic losses , disruption of the natural flow of the biodiversity are among other harsh effects . Their programs are not that efficiently implemented because of low funds , unlike Japan and U .S . which have enough or even excess funding proportional to their environmental damage . They have actually initiated controversial one-child policy to lessen household consumptions

Several methods can be applied . There are many environmental scientists who specialize on doing this job . But then without any scientific formulas and equipment , education is still one of the weapons we can use . Prevention is better than cure that is why as early as possible avoidance can contribute , even in a small percentage to what the environment truly needs

China has been exerting efforts to attain competitiveness , and at the same time environmental preservation . We cannot deny that China plays an important role in world economy .
