Resource Shortage
Fresh Water Resource Shortage a . Write a clear of the problem , the political and economic issues behind it , and how the shortage is affecting the community Fresh water has been considered as a inexhaustible resource no more Freshwater shortage can be felt by communities across the world . At the present time , 76 of the world 's population has a specific water availability of less than 5 ,000 m3 per year per capita and 35 of that figure has very low , or catastrophically low water , supplies . This situation will deteriorate further in the

beginning of the new century -- by 2025 most of the Earth 's population will be living under the conditions of low or catastrophically low water supplies , at 1000 m3 per year per capita (Kassas , 2001
An example of this problem is clearly manifested in El Paso , Texas and in Ciudad Juarez in Mexico . In thirty years , estimates mark a population of four million people living in the same desert climate area receiving scant amount of rainfall . Rio Grande from where most of the water is being shared by populations in Colorado , Mexico and Texas . Though snowpacks continue to feed water to the river , overpumping of the main acquifers has yielded salty water . Water from the river are not drinking water quality and therefore needs to be treated at a substanial price
Texas landowners who have lakes on their property continue to pay tax on the container but the State of Texas owns the water on the lake . This has been a subject of political and economic debate because although the state owns the water on a private property , legislators has been hesitant to shell out funds for water projects . Another factor is the lack of community effort to realise that fresh water is not an inexhaustible resource . The existence of much water in the area does not justify wasting the resource . Texas is a dessert . Given that rainfall is scant management , construction and planning of how ground water will be distributed to the many industries and population that need water must consider the fact that water in this area is low
Water management has been plagued with other issues that do not directly pertain to the actual management of water but directly affects the distribution of water to public needs . Water basically comes...
