Introduction

This study is set to assess which training programmes are most effective in motivating employees and encourage them to develop new skills and hence give possible recommendations of the findings . Training plays an integral part in organization 's development and provides a competitive advantage among other factors . For training to be effective and successful a lot of funds are required and though this may be a factor if the programmes are irrelevant and inadequate then the training objectives cannot be achieved

Training of employees is a very crucial element in

the attainment of organizational goals and objectives . Cole (2002 ) defines training as a learning process of increasing knowledge , acquisition of skills concepts and attitude to enhance performance of employees . The purpose of training is to improve employee 's performance in their current jobs and equip them for more demanding roles . It is considered as one of the most valuable , significant and important tool for Human Resource Development in an organization . Training programmers and experts should be invited from time to time to at least recommend the skills and knowledge that needs to be enhanced in the employees to enable them to provide quality service due to enhanced skills and motivational factors
