Research Design (week 10b)
p Research Design Obesity in children has been an important health issue today . The research study aims to determine whether or not chocolates and softdrinks should be allowed in schools . The mixed method strategy that will be adopted for the study is sequential exploratory . The study will gather data including the opinion and thoughts of the parents of obese children . The sequential exploratory strategy is performed in two stages . The first stage is given priority . One weakness in qualitative research is the results obtained might not be unique to only a few people of the population . It is also difficult to make quantitative predictions without the aid of quantitative data Another weakness is that the results of the study can be easily influenced by whatever bias the researcher might have . The quantitative research methods also have their weaknesses . The categories used by the researcher might not represent the understanding of the population . The results obtained from quantitative research might be too general and abstract to be directly applied to certain situations and individuals (Creswell 2003
With the implementation of the mixed methods strategy , the weaknesses of the qualitative and quantitative research methods will be addressed With the...
