Research problem

It is the desire of administrators to have campuses which are safe havens for all students . However , higher education institutions are exposed to crime whereby female students experience a high risk for sexual harassments . It is noted that 3 percent of all campus ladies are rape victims , that is , either attempted or completed rape in a 9- month academic year . Therefore , for every 1 ,000 female students , there are 35 rape crimes which

indicate that , for every five female students , one has to experiences rape during a five year campus career . It is considered that about 85 of the rape crimes , assailant and victim know each other whereby the incidents are not labelled as rape by half of the victims Thus , most of the victimized campus ladies don 't define the incidences as rape . This indicates that not more than 5 of attempted and completed rape cases are reported to law enforcement or campus authority

Purpose of the study

The research aimed at investigating how higher education institutions respond to sexual victimization of female students . Therefore the study meant to answer the following research questions : -

Do academic institutions have a written sexual harassment response policy

How do academic institutions define sexual assault

Who is trained in campus to take action to sexual assault reports

What are the required ways of reporting sexual assault by students

Do victims of rape in campus have...
