The Republican Party is viewed as socially conservative and economically libertarian . The party is known for its support for lower taxes and the limitation of government in many economic areas and as result enables economic freedom . The Republican Party was established from the belief that no human being should be owned by another human being . The party stands for certain principles and a unique identity from other

parties . The Republican Party aims at cutting taxes so that people can be able to plan for their money effectively and spend it as they wish . The Republican Party has its roots in the opposition to slavery . It founders adopted the name republican to stand for a party that is free from corruption and aristocracy . The Republican Party has played a very important role in women suffrage . It has also played a vital role in securing women the right to vote . This is evidenced by the fact that the first woman to be elected to congress was a republican Since the Republican Party was formed as an opposition to slavery and oppression , it supports individual freedom and believes that independence should be applied to everyone . Even though the republican party believes that people should be left to take are of themselves without interference from the government , republicans believe that it is important to assist those who are truly in need or those who cant provide for themselves (Jaynes , 2005

In the education sector , republicans believe in local control of education programs as well as reducing bureaucracy at the district level . It allows for families to chose among well-accredited schools through pilot programs whether public or private . In crime prevention republicans believe that the government has an obligation to protect the lives of its citizens , including their properties . According to republicans both adults and juveniles should be aware that their actions have consequences . Republicans are constantly fighting for implementation of constitutional limits on state taxing and spending They advocate for the fact that the government should not be allowed to develop at a higher rate than the ability of citizens to pay for the growth . The Republican Party supports individual 's property rights and aims at promoting the shift of power from a centralized government to the local community . The party promotes a strong national defense by spending more money on the military and defense systems . The Republican Party believes that all human rights come from God and that the constitution was written to protect these rights as well as to govern the moral and religious people .
