ABSTRACT

This is an in-depth discussion on the research , evaluation referencing , and computer literacy skills exhibited and employed during internet usage . The focus is specifically on several ethical issues that surround these areas , as well as the resulting skills and capacity for research as developed in the duration of the course

This report is strategically divided into eight parts , which include the Introduction , Definition of the Problem , Methodology , Results Discussion , Conclusion , Reference List , and Appendix . The advent of the world wide web , or the internet , as it is often referred to , opened a new level of accessibility to information that has surpassed almost any other kind in history . The convenience allowed by internet technology , virtually erasing time and space limitations , has also been successful in providing increasing knowledge to more and more people all over the world

Not surprisingly , the internet is fast becoming the information source of choice for most individuals - and is proven by the steadily-growing number of internet users and subscribers . This report thus aims to provide an accurate and relevant definition of the internet and relevant technologies , the effects of internet usage on the lifestyles of a select group of subjects representing a bigger community of users internet or online communication styles and behavior , and important ethical concerns regarding the internet that are present in the social structure of community

2 . DEFINITION OF THE PROBLEM

Because of the ground-breaking introductions made by the internet , from ease and convenience to a greater audience reach to non-discriminatory parameters in reference to users , it has become one of the , if not the most , popular of all information avenues . Unique online services and features such as email , instant messenger , and others have changed the landscape of communication and information tremendously .
