Religion has always been a strong force in influencing the political activities in any country . It has been used as an agent of a strong influential sphere in creating political mandates and policy regulations . Over time , political victories can be traced from strong religious orientation and support ( Religion and Politics (1 ) n .d

In the Third World development , religious issues are also strong factors in shaping up beliefs and political reforms . In countries which are part of the Third World sphere , the impacts and influences

of religion on politics are more pronounced and rampant . Most of the controversies and conflicts between certain countries , are most likely embedded on religious issues and differences of beliefs ( Religion and Politics (2 ) n .d

And in most cases , in a country which has a more organized and elaborate religious stands , the greater is its political influences ( Religion and Politics (2 ) n .d . Third World countries with pronounced religious beliefs tend to be more superstitious , hence it creates direct impact on policy formulations and reforms . Sometimes this kind of religious background becomes the basis for the backwardness of a country 's economy

In the case of United States of America , religion has also shown its direct and strong influence over which US leaders and politicians maneuver their careers in such a way that they get the support of the large religious population . In U .S , although there is a strong campaign in keeping the state separate from church entities , it is inevitable that politics is always mixed with religion . And for U .S politicians they have used the strong influence of religious beliefs towards the citizens to get their support . Also , religious beliefs have also become grounds for the approval and implementation of most of the political changes and policy ammendments ( The Pew Forum , 2007
