Religion and Politics

Religious beliefs , over time have been proven to have played an integral part in influencing the way international policies and events have turned out . Apparently , religion exerted its innate strong influence over the political arena . Although extreme involvement of religious sectors in the realm of politics created confusion and and conflicts , the distinction between religion and politics has been hard to determine (Cauthen , 2001

Though there are attempts to separate church from the state , there still exists a powerful inclination of mixing up politics with religion At

most times , politicians use religious influences for lobbying on certain political issues to get support from the people ( Religion and Politics ' n .d . Throughout the history of most of the countries religion took part in the world 's greatest political and social movements . Most of the laws pertaining to social and civil rights have struggled on the ground of religious influences ( The Pew Forum 2007

In the recent eras , powerful politicians have emerged triumphantly through the support of religious sectors ( The Pew Forum , 2007 Consequently , religious influence on politics is also significanly strong especially during election turnouts . In the past elections voters were deliberately open with regards to their political choices which were strongly influenced by their religious orientation . Voters have looked not on the sole basis of the candidate 's political mobilization and plans of action , but also gave huge consideration on the politician 's religious commitment

Thus , though there are attempts to create an impression for the separattion of church and state , still religion widely influences political issues and policy formulations . Religion not only influences the citizens with regards to their manner of choosing candidates , but as well as how those politicians choose their systematic way of running the state . Thus in essence , political reforms are strategically fabricated within the realms of religious influences
