The relationship between religion and science has always been subjected to numerous debates as both fields are extremely broad . However , the distinction between them is exclusively procedural . For one , the scientific method takes the most objective approach to measure and calculate the things that happen in the universe . On the other hand theology is more subjective . It depends heavily on traditions and belief , and in the existence of the supernatural , to understand the universe

br questions of observable and verifiable phenomena . Religion alternatively , tries to answer the why ' questions of morals and values . However , in many respects , these two fields often overlap each other , resulting to numerous conflicts that have barely been disentangled since time immemorial

Records show that science has had a multifaceted rapport with religion Through the years , it has been believed that religious doctrines have somehow shaped scientific development . In the same way , scientific knowledge has also impacted religious beliefs . Recently , it has been believed that science and religion contend with essentially separate characteristics of human experience . Therefore , they can co-exist quietly when each hangs about within its own sphere of influence

Another view holds that science and religion inevitably compete for authority over the nature of reality . Many believe that religion has been steadily losing against science as scientific explanations become more credible and altogether powerful . Unfortunately , these views do not specifically account for the numerous interactions between science and religion -- from animosity and hostility to devoted partnership

Proponents of Hinduism deny that their religion fears scientific explorations . They have also been said to be supportive of mankind 's technological progress . According to their own beliefs , Hinduism allows one a wide-ranging scope and opportunity to mold himself and his religious teachings according to the demands and aspirations of the modern world . In other words , Hinduisn has the ability to support both science and religion in various aspects . It does not need to take sides , as it is more adjustable compared to other religions in the world . Hinduism , in fact , uses contemporary examples to expound its olden theories . This eventually strengthens its own belief system . An example of this is the fact that some Hindu scholars use the terminology of quantum physics to explain the basic concepts of their religion , such as the transient temperament of man 's being
