narrates the whole story . The child , Oksar is extremely intelligent
and exceptionally close to his father and he observes life in a very different way . After
the death of his father , when he spends time with his father 's things he accidentally finds
a key in an envelop with `black ' written on it . He wants to know the truth behind these
words and its relation to the key and the whole story is his experience of looking for
them . Oksar 's search for the facts behind the key shows the hunt for the reasons and
integrates them with the attacks of September 11 , 2001
While writing the novel , Foer takes care of the fact that Oksar is just 9 years and his child
