Oskar lost his dad in the 9 /11 terrorist act because his father was in one of the World trade Towers at the time of attack Oskar is just 9-year-old but is extremely intelligent and very much to his father He does lots of creative things that are not normally done

by so young children . Usually
it is seen that a child who is extraordinarily brilliant and smart acts in a mature manner
always but here Foer has showed Oskar intelligent but at the same time he maintains the
innocence , confusion and emotions of a 9-year-old boy too
Oskar seems to be extremely close to his father and he was the first one to come back
home the day of this terrorist attack . Just as he gets inside he receives messages from his
father on the answering machine and he sets aside the message to himself . Oskar is seen
near his father 's closet as he loved his dad too much and obviously he misses him a lot
Being near to his things gives him a feeling of nearness to his father even after death
This shows his emotions for his father like a young child
While touching his dad 's things in the closet , he finds a vase that has an envelop...
