Dear Ma 'am

I am writing you to forward my recommendation regarding the most suitable applicant for the managerial position at the Appliance Department which shall soon be vacated in lieu of the incumbent 's intent to resign in two weeks ' time . I have proceeded with interviewing the candidates who have applied for the post , and wish to briefly present the interview results and my recommendation The criteria that have been used in evaluating the candidates are as follows : educational background

, previous work experience , competencies and recommendations of previous employers

Kevin Root is a graduate of Psychology and is currently taking his Master 's degree in marketing on part-time basis . While studying , he works part-time at a local electronics store where his main function is to sell televisions and computers . His immediate superior has commended his competency in selling and his pleasant disposition , but has also noted that he seemed fatigued ' most of the time . Another candidate Thomas Sadowski is a retiree of from the police department . While he is a high school graduate , his record is exemplary , acting as an Assistant Manager of Cooper 's Applicance Department for 7 years now . He is also strongly results-oriented as attested to by the highly profitable contracts he drafts with each sale he undertakes . There is feedback from a handful of employees on his aggressiveness . Finally , Alice Crowley has had a 9-year track record in teaching chemistry . She has exemplary coordination skills according to the principal of the school in which she was employed . She has begun working for Cooper 's five years ago , and has started with the Appliance Department a year back . She has training and coaching skills , and has often been tasked to orient new employees on company policies and procedures

After careful consideration of their qualifications , I deem that Thomas Sadowski is the most suitable candidate for the post . His past experience as Assistant Manager is invaluable , and he has most familiarity with the responsibilities that go with the position . If he is indeed promoted , the assistant managerial position shall be vacated and Kevin Root would be an ideal choice for this post . This ensures that we have an adequate succession plan in case Thomas Sadowski retires considering his age . Kevin is also taking his Masters in Marketing which is aligned with the Appliance Department 's thrust to strengthen its marketing efforts
