July 2008 . This along with other bad economic policies has contributed to the declining

value of the dollar with the Fed pumping in large quantities of liquidity which is further

resulting in higher oil prices . The biggest problem faced by industry watchers today is the

fact that the housing problem is plunging the economy into recession Add to this the

soaring oil prices and resultantly there is massive inflationary pressure

in every

economic and consumer goods price activity

A major prevention effort by the US Fed has been to keep the interest rates lower so as to

cushion the economy against housing and credit problems . Strong global economies are

indirectly helping the US economy by raising demand for US products due to a

weakening dollar which makes US exports more attractive for foreign buyers and in the

process help US manufacturers to compete with other foreign products Although the job

market is showing a decline in employment and increase in layoffs , this trend is most

conspicious in the housing markets , but in other operations there are still prospects for

improvement . Research has also shown that whatever damage that was to be done in

housing has been done and there are now chances for an eventual upturn

and things will appear better in the face of economic reforms slated to be implemented by

the government .The government spending is now at a high of 25 of GDP in the face of
