The article , Iran 's Gay Plan ' written by Matthew Hays and published in CBC News is a startling revelation about a documentary that reveals how Iranians seek to address homosexuality in their country . The article focuses on a documentary film directed by Tanaz Eshaghian which is entitled , Be Like Others ' and which was shot in Iran to focus on the country 's legalization of sex reassignment surgery and it 's funding this type of

operation to provide a solution to earlier legislation that deals out death as a penalty for homosexuality . It also reveals the experiences of the director which directly relate to the heartbreaking struggles that homosexuals are experiencing in this country . The article is a disturbing piece of information because it shows how heartless culture can be , it mocks individuality , and it scuffs at the concept of sexuality

I personally feel enraged by the article because while it merely reports facts , it illustrates how , in this world , there are still countries where culture can be cruel . In Iran , Islam is the predominant religion and most Islamic communities believe that homosexuality is a sin against Allah . It is this religious belief that dictates the precepts of culture which is the basis for the legislation that Iran passed that illegalized homosexuality and mandated death as a penalty for those found guilty of such an offense .
