Mills is extremely critical with regard to the multiplicity of methods and ideas , which contemporary sociology tends to promote , but he evidently forgets that multiplicity of ideas in sociology is the first step toward systematizing and classifying the traditional and non-traditional trends in continuous sociological research . The abundance of ideas which Mills so heavily criticizes is the most valuable resource that researchers can use to avoid conformity and uniformity in sociology research
