The important first step in creating engaging learning opportunities is to remember that each child will internalize the material that is presented in a different way Therefore , it is important to individualize instructional methods to best meet the needs of all students (Reeves , 2001 . They provide a set of expectations that permits teachers , parents and students to see measurable educational growth . Incorporating appropriate instructional strategies as well as appropriate assessment strategies based on state standards is an important skill for any teacher .
