RADIOLOGIC TECHNIQUES FOR THE DIAGNOSIS OF VARIOUS CONDITIONS
The significance of radiological techniques in medical fields is fast growing so much so that now radiology has become a medical field in itself . With the evolution of the radiographic and various scanning techniques , the diagnosis of any condition is far easier now than it was in the past . Radiologists are now key players and planners in any complex treatment , and surgical procedures will be less perfect without the contribution of a radiologist . The field is therefore increasing its scope to include a wide variety of medical fields , and these contributions will increase with time
Since the of the individual radiographic technologies , techniques and paraphernalia for each disease may be impossible , here presented are three conditions common in current medicine which are being successfully treated thanks to various radiographic techniques . Indeed radiography is now also becoming a new treatment procedure for many diseases . The cases or the conditions for perusal are Alzheimer 's disease , Hepatitis C and osteoclastoma . The article aims to highlight the key features of these conditions , their progression patterns and how they are diagnosed . In this regard a particular emphasis will be on the various radiographic techniques that can be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of the condition . Each will be discussed separately
ALZHEIMER 'S DISEASE
Alzheimer is one of the most prevalent dementia conditions that are affecting a very large proportion of the adult population around the world . These rates are predicted to raise with time due to the upcoming ageing of the baby boom population . Most of the signs are related to the memory , whereby a person starts to forget things which are the most significant in his or her life (Cummings and Jeste , 1999 ) The deterioration of the motor and the mental skills makes it difficult for such patients to carry out normal routine activities (Perry and Hodges 1999 ) The end result of these changes result in a mute and immobile state in the person affected with the condition . Delusion hallucination , difficult behaviors , unpredictability and increased cognitive impairment are some of the situations that the patient may suffer from (Cummings and Jeste , 1999
