RACISM AND ETHNICITY IN THE PRE AND POST USA PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION PERIOD Over the years race and ethnicity has been a common issue or basis of distinguishing one person from another within the United States of America . As the name goes USA is basically a combination of different states with different people from diverse ethnic backgrounds and races and thus the issue or race and ethnicity should thus be a by gone Over the past one month I have been keenly following the discussions on media coverage during the US presidential elections

and post election discussion on race and ethnicity . One particular thing that seems to be given a lot of attention of all the post election media coverage is the fact that the new elected president of the United States Barrack Obama is actually an African American . This coverage and state of affair basically lead me in believing that racism and ethnicity are still or are currently still a big issue in the American society in general , and thus should be a point of concern especially now that USA has an African American president
