beneficial too humanity . Here Quran does not specify or limit good by defining it but in Islam there are peculiar absolute goods and evils
Another important historical context is that first two of the three stated verses were revealed after Battle of Badr (3 :110 ) and Battle of Tabuk (9 :112 . The victorious Muslims were directed not to waste their energies in vain jubilations and were reminded of their true purpose i .e . to eradicate religious and moral degeneration . These verses are not related to the religious ritualism but are directed toward the social benefits . It further asks individuals to check their own propensities first and refrain themselves from social evils first and perform social goods

Contemporary society suffers from socio-cultural evils and there is dire need on the part of the Muslims to reform their society and disseminate this message of Quran universally . Muslim Community in particular and world in general are prone to various social maladies i .e . corruption , nepotism social delinquencies , usurpation of the rights of the individuals etc So these Quranic command are more relevant today...
