Health is a very important aspect of any population that affects their productivity hence development . Health care is hence a very important institution of any country as it ensures that the populations have the required physical and mental ability that is crucial for them to undertake the activities that are crucial for their development and survival . A country that is focussed on developing both socially and economically has to seriously address the health

issues of citizens ensuring that health care is accessible , affordable and of high quality (Bybee , 2009 . Most countries , especially the industrialized ones and even the developing ones have recognized the importance of having a healthy population hence have implemented health policies that ensure that health care is universally available to all the legible residents irrespective of their location , race , age and , employment status and social status at an affordable cost . Most policies in these countries take the form of universal health care . A country such as Canada is said to have the healthiest individuals worldwide because of its health care system that provides universal health care

The United States however is the only industrialised country that does not provide universal health care to its citizens .
