influence , lack of proper education concerning the use of drugs and availability of drugs , in most countries it mostly regarded as a way of fighting stress among the youth who are mostly jobless
A research was done among the African American women and African American men to determine who are mostly and prone to the use of drugs it was done among the most abused drugs in the New York City . The research was done on each individual drug to determine how both groups of people abuse it and who abuse it more . Among the drugs that were researched on were marijuana , Cocaine , Heroin Nicotine and inhalant drugs
Marijuana
Marijuana is the most commonly used illegal drug , it is abused by about 80 of all illicit drug users . This is mostly used by male compared to women males of about 18-25 are the most affected by the use of this drug , one in every six male between the above mentioned ages are marijuana users
Women are not affected much compared to men in the use of this drug , one in every female between the ages of 18-25 are user of the drag . In the past few years the number of women using the drug has significantly reduced compared to the number of men which is rising
However marijuana use has been reported increasing among the young males despite of the government and other organizations fight and campaign against the use of marijuana
Cocaine
In the year 1997 , about 0 .7 of the American population were the reported to be the users of cocaine . This has also been increasing in usage among the people of all walks of life . Male were reported to be mostly affected by the usage of this drug
Most of the cocaine users belong to subgroups that are not well represented , this is because the users are not in one group , and the adults are more prone to the usage of this drug compared to the youths
Adult women contribute about 40 of all cocaine users , young women plays about 30 while lest are adults . Adult Males are more prone to the usage of this compared to the young males , it is assumed that this is more expensive for young and school going age to afford . In the conclusion of this , men are more affected than women in the usage of cocaine
Heroin
Heroin use has declined in use among people of all ages , women and men...
