When it comes to evaluating individuals on a mental level there are many psychological tests available . There is one test though that seems to be over most of the others . This is the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 or MMPI-2 for short . This will examine the characteristics associated with this test as they pertain to the history , the creators , applications that the test covers , the weaknesses and strengths and the perceived validity and reliability of the test

The MMPI-2 is a revision to the original MMPI . Both tests have been established by

the University of Minnesota and were published by the University of Minnesota Press . The copyright of the MMPI instruments belongs to the Regents of the University of Minnesota . According to the company Pearson Assessment author of the article Revision of the Original MMPI the Press , working with its consulting board , is responsible for the substantive development of the tests , including any revisions to them ' The author also mentions that the University exclusively licenses Pearson Assessments to produce , market , and sell the MMPI test products and to offer scoring and interpretive services
