The Psychology of Aging I am d that I already had an appreciation of the experience of aging prior to this assignment , but I was even more d to see that the main character in the text that I chose , Morrie Schwartz , shared my views . We should all be able to agree that if there is one thing that we live to do , it would definitely be to die . Morrie Schwartz was no different he had to die just as the rest of us will one day have to day , but the way in which he chose to accept his fate was quite uncharacteristic of American culture . An extremely independent former history professor Schwartz openly accepted the inevitable cycle of life , which one would imagine wouldn 't be difficult , but in our society it could prove quite hard . Although some find it depressing to read about the deterioration of such a great man , I found Morrie 's insight into life and death quite refreshing
In the text , a former student of Schwartz , Mitch Albom , visits Morrie on each of the Tuesdays of the final months leading up to his death to discuss the cycle of life from Morrie 's point of view...
