Terrorism is an act wherein force or violence is utilized against a person or a group of people , and property . Terrorist acts violate the criminal laws of a country for intimidation , coercion , or ransom committed along with the act . It also commonly involves actions that can generate fear among the public and can immediately attract publicity which are geared towards easily promoting the terrorists ' causes and to convince the people of their beliefs and goals

In the minds of terrorists , there is nothing nobler than to be able to communicate these causes to the people or to the general public . Regardless of the means that they make use of - even if it includes violence towards innocent civilians - for the terrorists , what they are doing is right .
