Proposal Argument on the issue of Capital Punishment

Quite a number of countries in world still believe in death penalty as a mode of imposing punishment . However , there are countries which are removing the punishment in their penal , or criminal law (bbc .co .uk ) books and so the debate rages on

My proposal argument is on the abolition of death penalty in all kinds . My reasons for arguing include just a number of incontrovertible arguments I happen to share with the article

on `Thoughts on the death penalty (n .d . The first one reads : The most important one is the virtual certainty that genuinely innocent people will be executed and that there is no possible way of compensating them for this miscarriage of justice (Thoughts on the death penalty , n .d

The same article explains its argument saying that the there is a significant danger for not abolishing the death penalty . It said that the person convicted of murder may have actually killed the victim and may even admit having done so but does not agree that the killing was murder . In such situation , the article feared that often the only people who know what really happened are the accused and the deceased Thus , the article feared that it comes down to the skill of the prosecution and defense lawyers as to whether there will be a conviction for murder or for manslaughter . Based on this , the article inferred that it is thus highly probable that people are convicted of murder when they should really have only been convicted of manslaughter

The same article cited a second reason , that is often overlooked and that is `the hell the innocent family and friends of criminals must also go through in the time leading up to and during the execution and which will often cause them serious trauma for years afterwards ' It explained itself saying

It is often very difficult for people to come to terms with the fact that their loved one could be guilty of a serious crime and no doubt even more difficult to come to terms with their death in this form However strongly you may support capital punishment , two wrongs do not make one right . One cannot and should not deny the suffering of the victim 's family in a murder case but the suffering of the murderer 's family is surely equally valid

How do pro-death-penalty people argue

Proponents for death penalty argued below but I have counter-argued for each statement made with the intention of exposing the utter lack of basis of such arguments

The first one supports the incapacitation of the criminal (`Thoughts on the death penalty , n .d ) by arguing that capital punishment permanently removes the worst criminals from society and should prove much cheaper and safer for the rest of us than long term or permanent incarceration

It may be counter argued that the state may not be the proper person to value how...
