Paul fell from scaffolding that lead to head injury . Paul lost earning and spent in hospital for several weeks . The Act is established cover the occupational health and safety at work place in the United Kingdom . The Health and Safety Executive (HSE ) is responsible for enforcing the Act . Under this Act , Section 7 (a clearly indicate that it is the general duty of every employee who is at work should take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself and other persons also for any acts committed by him /her . In the given case , Paul , an employee of Caldwell Ltd has been provided hard hat to wear during the work period .
