Progress Report (memo format)

Memorandum

Subject : Progress Report (Packaging

Dear Mr . Gayhart

I am writing to bring you up to date on the progress in packaging for the new line of storage containers that are to be shipped to Boskov on 9 /24 . This letter summarizes all our work related to packaging from start to finish

In May , we conducted a tender for the of creative design for our containers , won by San Diego-based ete Advertising Design that has

already done the design of brochures for Snap-Savor . Specifically , their creative director Michael French was responsible for overseeing the design of the ABC and BCD boxes and the labels for box E

The designs developed by the ete were then transferred and laminated onto cardboard cutouts for the boxes by Scope Packaging

The bid for printing the ABC and BCD box sheets was won by Jeff Berrong of San Diego company Commercial Press . However , they only did ABC boxes as there was a glitch in the printing when it came out that Jeff 's printer was too small for BCD boxes , but Michael French rescued the situation , finding another printer at Superior Printing in Los Angeles We can credit Michael French with significant personal effort put in imploring the printers to speed up the process for BCD boxes . As a result , the boxes went through the following process

The ABC boxes had been printed by Commercial Press by 9 /7 , laminated by Scope and shipped to MarLee by 9 /13 , arrived at MarLee by 9 /17 , shipped by MarLee to Boskov on 9 /21

The BCD boxes had been printed by Superior Printing by 9 /13 , laminated by Scope and shipped to MarLee by 9 /17 , arrived at MarLee by 9 /20 shipped by MarLee to Boskov on 9 /22 , arrived at Boskov on 9 /23

French gave the job of printing labels for E boxes to SOS Printing in San Diego who then transferred the job to Best Label in Cerritos , LA This company made a mess of the process by mixing up their deliveries when the labels were ready to ship on 9 /21 by FedEx to MarLee . After Michael French did a personal inspection of the labels on the same date the shifts at Best Label mixed up their s and never sent them to MarLee on the agreed date , 9 /21 . As a result , the MarLee staff was not able to put the labels on the boxes although they had UPS trucks waiting to ship the completed boxes to Boskov on 9 /23 . After a lot of confusion and anger between all parties involved , I invented the following solution : both the labels from Best Label and the boxes from MarLee arrived at Boskov , and the retailer 's staff had to put them on the boxes themselves . The timeline for Boxes E is as follows

The labels had been printed by 9 /15 , with minor revisions done on...
