Then what is professionalism

Many have come up with different meanings of the word professionalism . Generally , it can be defined as the possession of certain traits /characters including skills

and knowledge that are required by a certain organization /institution . It means that for one to attain such traits like honesty intelligent smart accurate then he is said to exhibit professionalism . Professionalism also encompasses ethical behavior . Every profession is governed by a specific code of ethics . One would be said to be professional when he /she observes the code of conducts (Arnold , 2002

For a lawyer to be a professional he has to research on legal changes that have taken place . He will have to continue leaning especially on case laws in for him to be able to determine cases professionally . The word professionalism is synonymous to performance . A professional must effectively handle his duties . He should not merely possess the title but be capable of performing
