The whole world is now experiencing the intense effects of oil crisis , a phenomenon that is not pleasant to non-oil-rich countries and worsens the continuing economic recession , yet it cannot be turned aside until we realized that we live in a planet that is full of energy sources . For generations people used fossil fuels to stimulate the industrial revolution in the last century , to produce electricity , to run motor

vehicles , among others , but the unprecedented shortage of oil in oil-rich countries in the Middle East proved to be dangerous not only to the environment but also to the economic , political and social life of people across the globe as well . During the past several years scientists discovered a wide range of possible alternative energy sources that can counter the tyranny of fossil fuel . Among the well-known alternative sources of energy are solar energy , biomass energy , wind energy , geothermal energy , hydropower energy , and hydrogen With this vast energy resource , man can now replace oil as the primary source of energy , thereby creating jobs to stimulate the economy and helping maintain a safer and cleaner environment
